Encapuslated grass reaches for the sun and warmth.
 > The Color of Winter:  
During winter, when the sky is usually overcast, colors are drab and lifeless.  When the sun does come out, colors pop.  The clear blue sky is reflected in the snow.  The early morning sun touches everything in its path with a warm, yellow glow.  All these elements compete for our attention if only we would stop to look.

Ice captures blades of grass on Flat Rock.
 > Trapped!  
The snow has melted leaving the ice surface open to view.  This leaf and rush strand will soon be freed of their temporary custody.

Everything along the shore of Wabigoon Lake is covered with ice, down to the last visible strand of grass.
 > By chance, brushing against an embankment revealed the small plant in its ice cocoon.
