Winter > popular all-time > Shoreline, Temperance River State Park; Schroeder, Minnesota A snowstorm is coming and the sun grows dim through the thickening clouds. For a little while, the light takes on a silvery tone that I love.

Winter > popular all-time > Wave Coming; Tofte, Minnesota One can go through a lot of exposures when shooting waves. This was one of the keepers. It wasn't quite as close as it looks. But one wave did catch a mitten. Fortunately, it was waterproof, but that didn't stop an instant crust of ice from forming around it. Water freezes quickly at ten above. This one came from Temperance River State Park.
Winter > popular all-time > The Beaver House at Night; Grand Marais, Minnesota The Beaver House in Grand Marais is the funkiest bait and tackle shop I've ever been in. All manner of handmade lures, tanks of minnows, shelves of blue glass and a giant walleye pike are only a few of the things found inside and out. There's a back-lot full of ice machines, too. I didn't know if they worked. At five above zero Fahrenheit, it hardly mattered.
Winter > popular all-time > Ten in the Morning in an Empty Room This empty room is part of the Art Colony in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Can't say why exactly, but something here appealed to me, so I took the photo. It still appeals to me, so you get to see it, too. Maybe it's the light... http://www.grandmaraisartcolony.org/
