This needed quite a bit of a cleanup from what camera out of the camera in terms of the bubbles, but it was pretty close to being shot in camera...

Just wanted to find different ways to introduce liquids and glass that don't involve actual glasses, bottles or alocohol which seem to be all I keep coming up with for ideas! It's telling, I know, but what can I do? I think this will be the last of the blood. I shall empty the syringe of it that I have been storing!)

Worth1000 > popular all-time > Day 5 - Electric Blue - Icehouse. This idea came to me while I was driving home from work this evening. I set the camera's white balance to tungsten and then used a flash to cast the blue light across everything. The camera was set to a long exposure so that I could then paint the tungsten torch across behind the vase with the bulb in it, and the correct white balance on the camera made the flash painting turn white. Getting a satisfactory flash pattern was rather a tedious exercise though...
Worth1000 > popular all-time > M is for Mandarin This one didn't quite come out as I had planned. I wanted to have the mandarin as a whole, glowing in the dark, but the veins and pith on the outside just came out in silhouette and looked all black and ugly. You can still see some evidence of that in this one, but careful pith-plucking and a few spots with the heal brush moved them out of the way. At the end of the day, this was a bit harder than I had anticipated, and still didn't come out as planned. Ah, well.

Worth1000 > popular all-time > Day 23 - Pink - Aerosmith. I have always wanted to try this chequerboard result that full glasses give, but just never got to it. I thought I would add a cliche splashing water to it too, in light of my theme. Next time you are drinking a glass of wine, in a rounded wine glass, take a look through it. What is up is down, and what is left is right. There's no trick to it, apart from lining the camera up with the background. so that the left/right switch is straight with the background. And then squirting some water and food colouring into it...
