Faces of Earth : Faces of Earth

In this gallery we look at our identifier, the face (unless we are twins), the faces of some of our animal companions, and the art of iconography.

A lot of work has yet to be completed on this gallery, so please bear with the artist (who has to also paint to live).

The Bruce Peninsula : Flowerpot Island, Tobermory, The Grotto at The Bruce Peninsula National Park and Wiarton.
To enhanced the colour, tones and detail of some of the photos in this gallery, I used techniques such as HDRI (high dynamic range image created with Photomatix Pro), exposure blending, the Orton Technique or just normal editing.

Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia : For most of these photos I used a circular polarizer on my Canon 17-40mm f/4L lens. All photos were shot in RAW and edited using Photoshop, Topaz Adjust, Topaz Clean II and Photomatix Pro when exposure blending was used.
Peggys Cove is 43 kilometres southwest of downtown Halifax and comprises one of the numerous small fishing communities located around the perimeter of the Chebucto Peninsula.
The community is named after the cove of the same name. Peggy is a nickname for Margaret, and the village may have taken its name from St. Margaret's Bay upon which it is situated. Local folklore has several alternative origins for the name. Some people claim Peggy was an early settler. Others say she was a young survivor from a shipwreck who remembered nothing of her life before her rescue; not even her name but was given the name Peggy by the family who adopted her. Visitors drawn by the mysterious child that eventually gave the village the name Peggy's Cove.
