Macro in Medford : These photos were taken right outside my apartment in Medford Massachusetts. There is a whole row of flowers along the fence around the house which attract a lot of bees (and other insects as well). These shots are hadnheld with the EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro. RAW-DPP 2.2-PSP X. Thanks for looking!

Lynn University Men's Basketball vs Nova Southeastern University - January 26, 2008, 7:30pm, Boca Raton, Florida : BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University men's basketball cut a 17-point second half deficit to just six but couldn't complete the comeback in a 76-66 loss to Nova Southeastern in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday night. Ed Millard led the Fighting Knights (11-7, 4-3 SSC) with 23 points while Hans Schur added 17 and Randy Jones chipped in 11. The Sharks' Tim Coenraad led all scorers with 26 points. A competitive first half saw Nova Southeastern (8-9, 3-4 SSC) jump to a quick 14-4 lead behind deft three-point shooting and the strong inside play of Kevin Chester. The Knights would respond in full, going on a 16-4 run to take a 20-18 lead at the 10:37 mark on a Jones jumper. Nova Southeastern retook the advantage and pushed their lead to as many as four until Lynn's Luke Postorino nailed a trifecta to give the Blue and White their second lead of the game at 26-25. The Knights' lead was short-lived, however, as the Sharks finished out the half on a 10-4 spurt to take a 35-30 lead into halftime. A 14-4 NSU run to open the second half gave the Sharks their second double-digit lead of the game at 49-34. Nova Southeastern led by as many as 17 with a 62-45 lead at the 10-minute mark. Lynn began to chip away at the Sharks advantage and cut the deficit to seven on a 10-0 run capped by a pair of Millard free throws at the 7:37 mark. Nova would ride the sharp-shooting of Coenraad to another double-digit lead but a Jones three-pointer cut the Sharks lead to only six with just under four minutes to play. The Knights couldn't overcome the Sharks' lead down the stretch and were forced into a fouling situation after a Millard dunk with 79 seconds to play made it a two-possession game at 72-66. Nova Southeastern converted four of its six free throws in the final minute while the Blue and White couldn't get their threes to fall as the visitors pulled out the 76-66 win.

Lynn University Women's Basketball vs Nova Southeastern University - January 26, 2008, 5:30pm, Boca Raton, Florida : BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s women’s basketball team fell 68-58 to Nova Southeastern Saturday evening. Crystal Ahmed and Rachel Brockman each recorded double-doubles while Jade Williams led the Fighting Knights with 16 points. Lynn drops to 14-4 overall and 5-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. The Blue and White offense stalled in the early part of the game as Nova Southeastern (13-5, 6-1 SSC) jumped out to an opening 12-4 lead. The Fighting Knights converted on two of their first four shots but watched the next seven attempts clank off the rim. A three-pointer by Liz Roth helped LU get out of its funk and start a 12-0 run to go ahead 16-12. Christine Haber put the Sharks back up, 19-18, starting a succession of baskets from each squad. Roth regained the lead for Lynn, converting on two free-throws, and Brockman sent the Knights into the locker room up 26-21 with a lay-up in the waning moments of the half. A three-pointer by Williams at the start of the period increased the lead to eight but a 13-2 run by NSU, highlighted by three baskets from beyond the arc, gave the Sharks the lead. Both teams battled for points over the next four minutes with Brockman scoring two of her 11 points to put LU back up, 43-41, with shots from the charity stripe. The seventh and final tie of the half came with 8:12 left in the game on an Ahmed lay-up. The junior guard finished with 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. NSU steadily increased its lead and finally pulled away with 2:46 remaining when Stephanie Sarosi drained two free-throws. Lynn attempted to stop the clock with fouls but Nova Southeastern went 10-of-14 from the free-throw line down the stretch to seal the deal. NSU was 19-of-27 (70.4%) at the line overall while LU was a paltry 9-for-20 (45%). For the game, the Sharks shot 38.6% from the field and the Knights hit 32.8%. This marks the first time Lynn has lost a game when leading at the half. Brockman picked up her eighth double-double of the season and Ahmed her sixth.
