 > Autumn Glory at Mono Cliffs

This is a photos of Mono Cliffs which are a rift in the Niagara Escarpment somewhat north of Toronto in the Caledon area.

This photograph was taken from a single engine light plane about 30 minutes after the dawn of an October morning when the trees were at the height of their autumn colour display. Our altitude was probably about 900 m

NOTE The dark band is not a river it is the shadow of the nears side cliffs cast into the valley. Since this is very early in the morning the sun was quite low in the sky behind us.
 > Mist-ical Square
 > Ancient Caledon

Earlier in the same flight mentioned in Autumn Glory we flew over a bank of ground fog.

The sun was just over the horizon and deep gold in colour.

Of course nothing in Caledon is ancient except the rocks but it felt like we were somewhere in Lost Horizon and an earlier time in England had emerged from the mist.
