dpreview > popular all-time > The contrast of flowing water and snow is really beautiful. There's a color version in gallery. Thoughts/comments? The PP for this shot is pretty basic. A black and white IR conversion done in Elements. +10 contrast and 100% sepia filter.
dpreview > popular all-time > The red really appealed to me in this shot. Try as I might, I couldn't find an angle to get rid of all the background clutter. Although it would have probably helped if I'd have shot wide open instead of f/14! See what happens when it's really cold and a warm car beckons! LOL. This also, as someone mentioned, would have benefited from "less is more." This was shot with a 28-135. Do I have to confess that my 100-400 was in the nice warm car? There is another photo in gallery.
dpreview > popular all-time > Ice fishing should be on everyone's "Bucket List." LOL. Not sure how thick the ice is this year...probably between 24" and 36 inches. Thick enough to drive cars on. There are a couple different shots in gallery.

dpreview > popular all-time > 2 Feb 08. I took a similar photo two years ago when I started photography....first picture I took. Taken from the ND side looking across the Red River.
dpreview > popular all-time > Hopefully we'll not see any more blizzards this year. Otherwise our flooding problems will be magnified. Water in the Red River at Fargo flows north to the Hudson Bay Watershed. This was taken through the window at my apartment. I sure wasn't going out in this stuff. LOL Be blessed.
dpreview > popular all-time > This is not a moose! LOL. While enroute to Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge, one drives through Holt MN....population 89. Like much of rural America, there isn't much there. And there definitely isn't an airport. So, I spotted this aircraft sitting where it shouldn't be. The story? At this point, I've no idea...research to follow. No moose were spotted on this trip. There is a second photo in gallery. Story - The aircraft used to belong to Northwest Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN. It was used in their aviation mechanics program. The put it up for sale and a construction contractor from Holt MN bought it and had it towed 13 miles and parked it. Rumor has it that this man wants to make a cabin out of it. Somehow, I'm having trouble picturing that! LOL
