Cactus and blooms : Photos of cacti from the Southwest USA: Many of the cacti are in bloom, hailing from arid Sonoran desert. A few are cacti from other countries photographed at the Phoenix or Tucson Botanical Gardens. My plant identifications are based on the referenced works noted below. While significant effort has been made to correctly label the pictures, my identifications could be wrong; corrections are welcome! Southwest Wildflowers : The Southwest has a surprisingly broad range of flowers and flowering shrubs. Photo sites include the arid Sonoran desert, Death Valley, and White Sands. Plants from higher altitudes in Arizona (e.g. the Mogollon Rim) are also included here. My plant identifications are based on the referenced works noted below.
