August 31, 2011. I stopped to ask a man sitting on the porch of his country store if I could take some photographs of his sunflowers. He said "sure, go right ahead, and you might like some pictures of the dahlias around the side of the store too". So I went around the side of the store and saw his dahlias. They were nearly 8 feet tall and such a beautiful sight. The most beautiful colors... white, pink, burgundy, pale yellow, coral, you get the picture... I was in heaven! He strolled over with his pocket knife while I was snapping away and babbling about how exquisite his dahlias were and he cut a big bouquet of every fabulous color and handed them to me. I was blown away by his kindness and generosity. I come across people like this every day because of my passion for photography, but I never cease to be amazed. Thank all of you so very much for all of your wonderful comments on my photograph yesterday. It was the first time ever for me to have the number one shot of the day and it was very much appreciated. I have seen such an improvement in my abilities since joining the Dailies and so much of that is due to the wonderful people that I've come to know here. Again, thank you so much for your support and inspiration!
June 21, 2013. I've been seeing these everywhere lately... does anyone know what they are, I'd like to get some for my garden. They're so simple and lovely.
I love this shot...backyard, sunset light filtered thru the tree. The best of the series by far.
At the Edge 2012-07-24 A summer flower attracts a small bee. Will it go further or look for an easier reward? Seen in a small garden in Niedersulz, Lower Austria.
Peach blossoms 2013-03-20 We have a small young peach tree in the garden, against the shed wall where it is somewhat protected. There were no buds until a few days ago, and now it is in full bloom. I think Nature is trying to catch up. Thanks for the kind comments on yesterday's hawk.
April 12, 2012. Blossoms. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments.
Have a blessed day!
April 13, 2012. Blossoms.
A wild tangle of Black Eyed Susans greeted me in the yard today. I somehow get a great deal of enjoyment from flower photos. The warm sun provided a pleasant golden light.
It's awfully hard to pick favorites in the iris family. However, this one is lovely! Have a blessed day.
Passiflora "Sprucei"
It doesn't get much better than this..... Have a blessed day!
