Waterlily revealed
"Two Lips", as my granddaughter calls them...is the Declaration of Love. Hard to find in Scottsdale, but pulled this photo from my trip to Victoria, BC last May to Butchart Gardens. A must see if you are in Victoria! Robert Butchart began manufacturing Portland cement in 1888 near Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. He & wife Jennie traveled to the west coast of Canada for the rich limestone deposits used in cement production. Eventually, they established their home near his quarry on Tod Inlet on Vancouver Island. In 1909, when the limestone quarry was exhausted, Jennie set about turning it into a Sunken Garden. The Gardens are magnificent and ever evolving. Ownership still remains within the Butchart family.
