That intersection is 70 miles east of Las Vegas. The dirt road leading to the base is C56A, which winds its way across the top and hits the road at the "5" in "2005" near the Google logo.

auslander > End of the road. C56A is blocked by this gate, the ranch sign reads "Romero's" -- it's unclear if the road is public beyond this point or not, I need to consult the BLM to see. If the road is public then we can open the gate, close it behind us and proceed. That will have to wait for another day.
