Wild Encounters
The wildlife of our great nation and the world are in my opinion one of our most precious resources, we owe it to ourselves and to future generations to ensure that we have healthy and diverse populations of animals of all types.
In todays world of money driven decisions and placing a monetary value on everything it is vitaly important that we do not overlook the true value of the wildlife and wild lands.
I am committed to helping to maintain wildlife and the habitat that they require to survive and am willing to use my images to help achieve that goal. If you are a not for profit or educational organization and see an image you would like to use for such purposes please contact me directly and we can work out an arrangement. All of the wildlife shown on this site are photographed in the wild unless otherwise mentioned. I believe in maintaining strict ethical practices when photographing wildlife, which includes no baiting or attempting to approach to closely in a manner which could place the animal or people in danger or cause the animal act in an unnatural manner. I sincerely hope you like the images I have presented here and if you don't see what you are looking for feel free to contact me via email @ paultnature@yahoo.com and tell me what you are looking for and I will attempt to get you the image you want.

I take wildlife protection very seriously and firmly believe we owe it to ourselves and future generations to ensure that there will allways be wildlife to enjoy and photograph. The key to this is habitat, without viable and healthy habitat the images you see here would not exist!
I strongly urge you all to do whatever you can to help our wildlife thrive, I will donate a portion of the money I recieve from the sale of the images on this site to one or all of the organizations listed,
The Nature Conservancy, The National Wildlife Federation, The Association of Northwest Stealheaders, Friends of Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge.

Sincerely Paul:

Meet Mr. Pringles, he and I shared each others company for a couple of hours one September morning in Yellowstone. I was enjoying my morning coffee and some pringles chips for breakfast as the wolves howled a mournful tune that sent shivers throughout my soul. As I dropped crumbs on the ground little chippy here would gobble them up hence the name Mr. Pringles.

Canis lupis aka the Timber wolf, arguaebly the most controversial animal in the west. Hunted to extinction in the lower 48 states, an attempt to reestablish this magnificent creature to its former domain was started back in the 90s and has met with limited success. The same old fears and prejudices have made it hard for the wolf to attain sustainable populations throughout much of its former domain. I find it hard to understand the mentality of those who want to kill all the wolves and the brutality of the methods they employ to achieve their goals.
I feel so blessed to have had the good fortune to get the opportunity to photograph this female member of the Druid pack in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone. It was quite a chance encounter that was so incredibly awesome that even now nearly two years later my heart races with excitement when I look at the images. She was stalking bison calves and I lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and as we stared at each other for several adrenalin filled moments I was barely able to hold still enough to get off 3 of 4 shots before she moved on. This encounter remains to this day the highlite of my wildlife phototgraphing days and its experiences like this that keep me continually seaching for the next encounter on the wild side.

They are being considered for protection on the endangered species list and are thought to be found only on Mt Rainier and Mt Adams in Washington.
