"MY TABLESCAPES" 2013 - 2009

These are my original ideas, designs, creations, and themes; you know what that means. "Imitation is suicide," said Ralph Waldo Emerson. Also, George Bernard Shaw said, "Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last you create what you will.”

"SWEET SURPRISES" Theme

"I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon." ~ Author Unknown

The debut of our February 2013 table setting.........red is my favorite color!

"L" is for love! Romance is in the air, and on the table, with this easy but elegant setting.

Additional photos of this table setting and others can be viewed in "My TableScapes" gallery here: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/11014855_M5W6FW#!i=2356864367&k=6dPWFsx

"And now abideth faith, hope, charity (love), these three; but the greatest of these is charity (love). ~ 1 Corinthians 13:13, The Bible (King James Version)

Happy Valentine's Day!

CHRISTMAS TABLE SETTING #3 - Aerial view of the entire table (Of course, I stood in a chair to capture this view)

I LOVE how this came out as a full-frame shot, and I wasn't looking when I took this pic. I just stood in a chair and pointed the camera in the center of the centerpiece bowl and snapped!

Fellow SmugMugger Judy (aka fotoeffects) suggested red, chartreuse, with hints of hot pink or fuschia for our Christmas table setting in the kitchen. Although I chose another color scheme, I was up to the challenge of creating a table setting in her suggested color scheme. So, voila! By the way, this is also our January (2013) table setting.

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. ~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce

For Judy (aka fotoeffects)..........

Last month, Judy (aka fotoeffects) suggested red, chartreuse, and hot pink accents for our December Christmas table setting. On the other hand, Karen (aka Kjakes1) suggested red and gold. Although I finally decided upon purple, lime green, silver, and black - colors suggested by fellow SmugMugger Nelli and one of my colleagues, I still created a table setting in Karen's suggested color scheme and felt up to the challenge of creating one in Judy's suggested color scheme, too. I tried to create a different arrangement of the ornaments for each plate.
