Last month, I treated mother to The Broadway Production of "The Color Purple." This was my early Mother's Day gift to her. My family surprised me with plans to travel the Mississippi to dine at Madidi Restaurant. Surprisingly, the restaurant blends in with the historical feel and flavor of the city. Don't expect any huge signs or pretense - as there were neither. Today's service was attentive but not intrusive; the food was good and the prices were comparable to or less than what you would expect to pay for any "fine" dining experience in a large city. Additionally, the restaurant's ambience was soft and warm. We arrived thirty minutes early, were greeted warmly, and seated immediately.
