No, this is not an Aqua Therapy class for pigs. No, this is not a swimming pool. These very lucky guys inhabit their own tiny private island deep in the Bahama chain - no humans, no manmade structures. Just pigs. Owned by a farmer on a nearby island, these pigs are free to roam to their hearts' content, but as soon as they hear an approaching boat, they run to the water's edge and swim out to see what food might be coming their way. Carrots and apples are good. Oranges - not so much. They have been known to snap at careless fingers and they certainly don't wish to be petted. They will bask in the sun or wander through the bush, tending to their babies - until the fateful day the farmer arrives with a rope and it's time to go off to market. In the meantime, it's a pig's life.
