Boston Ballet Studio Rehearsal

An embarrassment of riches today. I shot from 12:30 until 5:30 at the Boston Ballet's main rehearsal studio. I kept more than 250 images. Haven't dug though them all yet, but this one stands out in spite of the amputations. See the proof sheet gallery for all the shots. I'd love help spotting good ones.

I plan to shoot at least one more studio rehearsal and the dress rehearsals of both La Fille Mal Grande on 9 March and Grand Slam on 16 March.

Update: I entered this in the FM MA Balance. It didn't make the finals but it did get a comment from Andy (just in case you thought he spent all his time on dgrin.) He noticed the arm mid right and said it was distracting. Cloning out annoying features is Photoshop thing he's much better at than me, but I went at that arm with a vengeance. Also post processed a number of others from this shoot. This is still the star, but there a few really nice portraits as well. The retouched shots are here.

MIT Sushi Chef

I've been stalking this guy for a week. He owns a concession in the Forbes Family Cafeteria in the Gates Building at MIT. Well, actually, it's the Gates Building in the Stata Center...

Return to The Ring

I was very excited to go back there a little later in the afternoon when there would be more people there. It really is fun to watch the rhythm of boxing.

This shot might need to go the the all three eyes in focus school.

Vagina at MIT

I've been kind of on a roll until today. Wandered around MIT after Computational Photography looking for a shot. Thought I got one of sushi chefs in the Gates Building, but no. So I'll just have to stick to shock value on Valentine's Day.

Dominika

Another both eyes in focus shot. Not sure about the tip of her nose, though. This is 24-105 f/4L at 104mm and wide open. Playing with DOF fire again. If only I didn't love the bokeh so much.

Margie

She might not love it, but it is a closeup with my 85mm f/1.2 with both eyes in focus. That's a goal I have set for myself: shooting portraits with both eyes in focus. Once I can reliably do this, I may reconsider those shots with shallower DOF.

At The Ring. I didn't ask her name but should have. Had to go back, but the good action on Saturday's is earlier than on weekdays, so apparently I missed the best sparing. This woman was involved in a very focused workout, though.
