I dropped in to have a listen to the Cecil Taylor guest concert. Instead I caught the Vienna Free Jazz Orchestra. 20 musicians, five dancers, it was far more than I could expect from a sole pianist, no matter how famous. A great surprise. Not worth buying on a CD though, as the sound was so complex that there is no way that it could be properly resolved at 44.1 MHz 16bit. Just too much information. At times all 20 instruments were playing at once, with at least four separate musical directions. It worked but only live, and properly mixed.
