(2006-02-18) Lots of crowd shots tonight...and why not? Everyone was psyched from the get-go for Nuna and the debut performance of Fallen. Nuna could very quickly become one of my favorite acts. I'd never seen them before and they came on firing on all cylinders. Very grungy. I liked the fact that - both lyrically and musically - they had this very sad, melancholy feel to their songs that at the same time expressed a hope and optimism that was very uplifting at the same time. Johnny Diaz: Thunderous drums. Nuna Minch: One of the most emotive players and vocalists I've heard in a while. Anya Minch: The kind of bass player I like - a player who knows what she feels with an incredibly sexy stalking of the stage. An act that is going to become a regular on my "must see" list, for sure. Next came Fallen: Gary Wortham on vocals and acoustic guitar, Gary Wesley on guitar, Vic Thompson on bass and Eric Langdon on the drums. I'd heard that these guys had gotten together to form a band and I had been looking forward to this debut for months...they didn't disappoint! Melodious-metal meets hip-hop meets industrial to form a sound that excites me like I haven't been for quite a while. You shouldn't miss these guys. I have a feeling there's gonna be quite a buzz about them very soon.
