2010 Fledge Watch
Everyone has a unique view into Fledge Watch, and every view whether from the ground, the garage, or from CIty Hall, is memorable. Here's a collection of my memories from Kekoa's and Maya's fledge in 2010.

 > Kekoa, the tiercel, fledged at night on May 21, giving the ground crews a fit as he could not be located.
Early on May 22, a dedicated group fanned out from City Hall to locate him somewhere on campus or in the downtown -- but he was hiding all the time on the Rotunda, aka "the Falcon catcher". He flew shortly after he was spotted, tried to go back to the nestbox unsuccessfully, then landed on the west side of CH.
 > Kekoa is on a west ledge on the 15th floor, hiking to the south end of the building.
 > Very purposeful hiking past one of the architectural features, a bracket.
 > He seems curious. On the SE corner of the 15th floor ledge.
 > Clara is on the lookout for Kekoa.

 > He is spotted from inside the building, in a staff kitchen with the blinds drawn, still on the 15th floor ledge. At first he cranes his neck to see who is looking at him.
 > Then he gives a juvenile's version of the Falcon Glare. Definitely Esteban's son.
 > Fledging is hard work, photographer or no, and the sun is warming his back. He rests.
 > In the meantime, members of the ground crew are watching and enjoying themselves, now that Kekoa is in their sites. Shot from the 15th floor interior.
 > Clara spots the photographer from outside the 15th floor, and starts cacking at her, much to the amusement of the ground crew. I promptly withdraw into the interior of the building, but Clara is vigilent on the Brise Soleil.
 > To get this photo while hopefully not upsetting Clara and getting any more guffaws from the ground crew, I laid down on the floor from inside the building, and inched my way towards the window. The photo has been inverted 180 degrees as it was originally "upside down" from my perspective looking up while on my back. Doesn't Clara seem totally charmed? (More like exasperated.) There's nothing like being told to "cut it out" by a Peregrine!
 > At one point, Kekoa abandons the 15th floor ledge, and lands on the Brise Soleil itself.
 > Esteban brings food, and Clara decides to feed Kekoa, who has not had a meal, to our knowledge, since the day before.
 > Past the louvers and the elevator shaft.
