The Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territory - Ladies and Gentlemen of the Regiment, Headquarters Mesa, Arizona is an 'INDEPENDENT ORGANIZATION'.
On, August 28, 2010 history were being made for the 1st Annual Arizona African-American Democratic Caucus *Inaugural Dinner*, at the Wyndham Phoenix, Arizona.
Congressman James E. Clyburn, (D-SC) will be the keynote speaker. He is the highest ranking African American in the U.S. Congress and the House Majority Whip. He became the first South Carolinan and the second African American to ascend to the third ranking position in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992, Clyburn has served as the chair of the Congressinal Black Caucus and on the Appropriations Committee. In 2002, he was elected in a three-way race to serve as Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and in January 2006, he became Chair. In addition to serving as House Majority Whip, Clyburn serves as leader of the House Democrat's Faith Working Group. He and his wife have three daughters and two grandchildren.
