Here are the F-711 and F-712 sub-assemblies ready to be used in the assembly of the aft fuselage. The white paint is the brush primer that I used on the mating surfaces. It's January here in Virginia and it's too cold outside even to spray rattle can primer, let along 2 part self etching primer.
Time to bend the longerons. This actually worked better than anticipated and wasn't that bad. One thing I had to do was to remove the vise from the workbench and bolt it to a piece of 2X8 lumber. This way I could move it around and use C clamps or deck screws to temporarily position it where I need to in order to be able to work with this very long piece of angle.
I did find that the technique recommended in the Van's instructions work very well. It really didn't take too many hits with a rubber mallet to put a bend in the material.
