Claudius > This bush stone curlew was nesting. The "nest" is just a patch of ground - no twigs or grass or anything at all. There were two eggs.
Claudius > Thus bush stone curlew was standing guard near the female(?) who was sitting on eggs.

Claudius > Tawny Frogmouth; this is usually a nocturnal bird, and is related to the owl family.

Claudius > This is a White winged Chough. I hear you ask "what about the white wings?" Well, there are white feathers under the wings, but not visible in this photo.
Claudius > This Mangrove honeyeater was on Ephraim Island. Shortly after I took this, I was moved on by security. Apparently the whole island is private property and there was some concern about my lens (was a paparazzi??)
Claudius > An immature satin Bowerbird. Males get their full plumage only at 7 years. This bird however had a bower, so was living in hope!
