jeanandlito > How much more appropriate for London can you get then an Asian man under an umbrella in the rain and in front of the British Museum.

jeanandlito > I promised Jean I wouldn't write anything about her hair!
jeanandlito > We were fortunate enough to be visiting the museum during a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition of Michelangelo's drawings. The museum broke a record by selling over 11,000 advance tickets.

"The exhibition traces sixty years of Michelangelo’s stormy life, from intimate studies made when he was in his early twenties to the visionary Crucifixion scenes carried out shortly before his death. It reunites material not seen together since the dispersal of the artist’s studio more than 400 years ago, offering a wholly different perspective on the defining genius of the Italian Renaissance."

jeanandlito > Two rows of eight ionic columns support the front pediment over the portico (a roofed entrance porch supported on at least one side by columns).
jeanandlito > The pediment of the museum's front facade with sculptures by Sir Richard Westmacott. Together the reliefs represent 'The Rise of Civilisation'. Westmacott was the greatest and most prolific British sculptor in the 19th century. His works now grace such notable places as Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park Corner, and Buckingham Palace.
jeanandlito > In December 2000, the Great Court was completed in just over two and a half years at a cost of 100 million pounds. It is still the largest covered courtyard in Europe.
