"Metamorphosis: My Artistic Creations"
"METAMORPHOSIS: MY ARTISTIC CREATIONS" (descending order from 2012 - 2011)

"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." ~ Erma Bombeck

I started this gallery in 2011. I absolutely LOVE beautiful, creative, interesting, unconventional, unorthodox, and unusual ART!!! On this premise, I decided to create my own art from original pictures I've taken. My first "remixed" image was on January 23, 2011. Non-remixed photos have been post processed (pp'd) with Picnik. All photos are arranged in descending order according to the date the original was taken. Also, where applicable, a link to the original photo is listed in the commentary. Enjoy the views!

"HOT PINK HONEYSUCKLES" Remix/Abstract

"Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it." ~ Dee Hock

The original photo was yesterday's post of the day, which can be viewed here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2012/19925393_swcnH9#!i=1793059563&k=ZTr2t2J&lb=1&s=A

I created this using a Picnik effect. I sure hate that the ants invaded and Picnik has closed as of April 19, 2012. I sure enjoyed utilizing it to add borders and to create remixes and abstracts of my original photos. I am aware that PicMonkey and other software exists, but I tend to always include this information for first-time visitors to my site.

Thanks a million for the kind comments and critiques regarding yesterday's photo. I particularly enjoyed perusing the moon photos that were submitted for Kenneth's (aka KENNETH-COLE-PHOTOGRAPHY) "Moon" Challenge tribute to Neil Armstrong (August 5, 1930 - August 25, 2012), an American astronaut and the first person to walk on the moon. He was also an aerospace engineer, U.S. Navy pilot, test pilot, and university professor.

Have a brilliantly beautiful and blessed day.

"A TOURNAMENT OF REGAL ROSES" Remix 2

"Ideas are the seeds, not the substance, of creativity." ~ Michael Schrage

And yet, another (and the final) artistic creation...........the "Waterfall" version of Thursday's photo. It was created using Picnik. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012.

Yesterday, I posted the "focal black and white" version, which can be viewed here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2012/19925393_swcnH9#!i=1793724793&k=VppH2Dj&lb=1&s=A

Thanks to all who commented on yesterday's photo. Stop and smell the roses today.

"A TOURNAMENT OF REGAL ROSES" Remix

According to philosophy, "Learning is growing. Learn to say hello in another language. Pick up a new hobby. Read a book you might not normally choose. Ask people their stories; truly listen. Eat food you've never tried. Exchange playlists with a friend. Find a mentor. Volunteer in your community. Be open. Learn something new every day."

My creative juices were flowing and on the day yesterday's photo was taken, I also decided to create a "remix" version. I'm definitely a fan of "Why go for the same old when you can go for the bold?" I pp'd by applying Picnik's "focal black/white" effect. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012. One day, I'll get around to utitilizing the features of the all new PicMonkey.

Thanks for the comments yesterday.

"NECKLACE OF TRUTH" Abstract

"Fashion fades - style is eternal." ~ Yves Saint Laurent

What a difference a day makes!

This looks like a larger version of an elegant pendant that hangs at the end of a silver chain; however, it's the remix of yesterday's necklace photo. It was created by applying a Picnik effect. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012.

"WIND CHIMES" Abstract

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." ~ 2 Chronicles 7:14 (The Bible, KJV)

What a difference a day makes!

Here's an abstract version of yesterday's wind chimes photo. It was transformed by applying Picnik's "circle splash" effect. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012.

"YOU'VE GOT MAIL"
(pp version)

“An envelope is not just an envelope, it's a letter. We still will go to the mailbox - hoping today it won't be just junk mail.”
~ Daniel Stein

In case you haven't noticed, it's a cleverly disguised mailbox and a very interesting roadside attraction. It was spotted at the same place of business as yesterday's "antique truck." As you can tell, I was in a pp kind of mood (referencing the previous two photos and this one); and I played around before deciding to apply Picnik's "vignette" and "soften" effects to create this final look. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012.

SPEAKING OF SPORTS: Miami Heat will host the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight in game 5 of the NBA Finals. The series is now 3 - 1 with Miami Heat leading the way. Will the "young guns" of OKC make a comeback and force a game 6? Will tonight be the night the Miami Heat claim the championship and Lebron James and Chris Bosh finally get their first NBA championship rings? If so, will LeBron possibly receive the MVP trophy? Only time will tell and the clock is ticking. The family and I are pulling for the "young guns" of OKC. Go Thunder!!!

Hang in there; tomorrow is Friday!

"ANTIQUE TRUCK"
(pp version)

"Our admiration of the antique is not admiration of the old, but of the natural." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today is the first day of summer!

Yesterday it was an antique tractor; today, it's an antique truck. I played with pp a LOT with this one but I like the final result. I pp'd by applying Picnik's "ortonish effect" and what a tremendous difference in the before/after. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012. I now wish I had created a collage.....oh, well.....I'm not sweating it.......hindsight is 20/20......such is life.

SPEAKING OF SPORTS: Miami Heat defeated Oklahoma City Thunder last night in game 4 of the NBA Finals in Miami, FL. The final score was 104 - 98; and the series is now 3 - 1. It was an awesome game and Russell Westbrook played like a champion, averaging a career playoff-high of 43 points and Kevin Durant added 28 points. Can the "young guns" of OKC make a comeback? Only time will tell..... and the clock is ticking. Game 5 is tomorrow in Miami, FL. The family and I are pulling for the "young guns" of OKC. Go Thunder!!!

Your overwhelmingly kind comments on my pp'd version of an "antique tractor" yesterday are humbly appreciated. It landed in the numero quatro (number 4) spot. SmugMuggers, you rock!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends.

"ANTIQUE TRACTOR"
(HDR version)

“Everybody had a tractor in the '40s. There's not much farming now. In the '40s and '50s you had more farmers than you had people working in the cities.” ~ Don Davis

SURPRISE!!!! Although I rarely pp, I felt this "oldie but goodie" was worthy of Picnik's "HDR and Lomoish" effects and frames. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012. Also, I photographed this same antique tractor during the fall of last year.

"CHERRY BLOSSOMS" Remix

“Keep the corners of your mouth turned up. Speak in a low, persuasive tone. Listen; be teachable. Laugh at good stories and learn to tell them; for as long as you are green, you can grow.” ~ Mother Teresa

This pp'd version was created by applying Picnik's "focal b/w" effect. I certainly miss Picnik. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012.

The orginal photo was yesterday's post of the day, which can be viewed here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2012/19925393_swcnH9#!i=1748524407&k=jrcv4HR&lb=1&s=A

"SOLEFUL" Abstract

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." ~ Scott Adams

What a difference a day makes! Here's a remix / abstract of yesterday's sequine shoe photo. The frame and effect were created with Picnik. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012.

"GUITAR"

"The joy of music should never be interrupted by a commercial." ~ Leonard Bernstein

First of all, thanks so much for your comments on yesterday's "Wings" photo; it landed in the #4 spot. Believe it or not, but I almost deleted it yesterday morning and posted something else.

I didn't get the name of the store where I spotted this creatively interesting guitar in its glass window. The store was closed, but It had all sorts of items on display from yesteryear and days gone by. Look closer and you will see that it's decorated and adorned with all kinds of items......an ink pen, cards, dice, and pearl necklaces, just to name a few.

I post processed (pp'd) this one by applying Picnik's "Ortonish," but the original can be viewed here: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/16276033_mPgvrt#!i=1693222396&k=ht7TH94&lb=1&s=A. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012.

SPEAKING OF SPORTS: My Los Angeles Lakers suffered a humiliating 119 - 90 defeat by the Oklahoma City Thunder last night in OKC in game 1 of the Western Conference semi-final series. Game 2 is tomorrow in OKC. Go Lakers!!!!

Finally, have a terrific Tuesday filled with the sounds of beautiful and melodious music.

"PENCILS"

“Everyone makes mistakes. That's why there is an eraser on every pencil.” ~ Japanese Proverb

Do pencil "sticks" qualify for today's challenge? I usually participate in the photo challenges and wanted to oblige and post a great "stick" shot for today's challenge. Unfortunately, I could not find a stick that fit the guidelines set forth by Kenneth (KENNETH-COLE PHOTOGRAPHY).

SPEAKING OF SPORTS: My Los Angeles Lakers were defeated by the Denver Nuggets last night (in Denver) in a game 6 loss of the playoffs. It's been a long and busy week; I fell asleep at the beginning of the second quarter. When I googled the score this morning, it was 113 - 96. Despite Kobe Bryant being sick and receiving four bags of fluid, he was still the most productive Lakers player on the court - scoring 37 total points. The Lakers will host the Nuggets tomorrow in game 7. Go Lakers!!!!!

Additionally, this is the focal b/w pp version created with Picnik. Unfortunately, the picnik is over. As announced earlier, Picnik closed on April 19, 2012. I placed them on a glass table with more of the front ends hanging off the edge of the table. Then, I turned off the lights in the room to darken the background. Regretfully, I didn't make a copy before the conversion, so this is the pp'd version of the original photo.

Have a "colorful" and "mistake-free" Friday, my friends.
