Softshell Turtle Conservation, Cambodia
To conserve the Critically Endangered Asian giant soft-shell turtle, Pelochelys cantorii, Conservation International has implemented a nest protection and head starting program together with the local monks of the 100 Pillar Pagoda and with the support of the local community. The facility for headstarting and assurance pond is on the grounds of the pagoda and is planned to be an ecotourism destination.
