The 3rd Virginia Volunteer Infantry was invited for the 18th year to present a Living History encampment and field demonstration at Gettysburg National Park during the weekend of July 15th & 16th. This year the 3rd VA portrayed the original Company B which had brought just 23 men to Gettysburg with only 13 actually taking the field for Pickett's charge that fateful day. Of these 13 men, only one actually returned from the wall with the others either being captured, wounded or killed. It was a very humbling experience for the company as we walked the actual path to the wall that these brave, dedicated and committed men did so many years ago in an effort to protect their families, land and their freedom. May all those who died during this struggle between countrymen rest in peace.
