This is a building at the St. Charles Avenue location and not the main campus. "Tulane University (officially The Tulane University of Louisiana) or simply TU is a private, nonsectarian research university located in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. Founded as a public medical college in 1834, the school grew into a comprehensive university in 1847 and was eventually privatized under the endowments of Paul Tulane and Josephine Louise Newcomb in 1884. Located next door to right of this building (and our left - but I did not get a photo) is the Tulane President’s House at 7000 St. Charles.This colonial revival structure was originally commissioned in 1907 by William T. Jay, a Cotton broker, and was later sold to Samuel Zemurray, the Rumanian immigrant who rose from selling bananas to creating the United Fruit Company empire. His widow would gift this magnificent home to Tulane University.
