 > Coming from Caledonia, you will come around a a quick corner and suddenly you see Freeburg. This town has a wonderful rural beauty to it. There is a row of houses on the left. Above the houses on a bluff sith St. Nicholas Catholic Church. St. Nicholas is the old settlement church. It is no longer used. On the right of the road is a valley and further right is another bluff. The valley in Freeburg appears to be an old farmstead. You can see the road heads to the right. Follow that road to the right and you will cross a nice little creek, Crooked Creek! Just past the creek is "Little Miami". Originally the site of the creamery and later a pool and later yet a popular bar and restaurant. More on that later.
 > Don't blink you will miss it! This is the original gate beckoning for Catholics to come to Mass. This is right off of the highway shoulder. Go through the gate and up the stairs. You will pass the former church rectory on your way to the church.
 > Turn around and face Caldeonia again. This is the view from the shoulder of the highway. The road ahead goes to Caledonia. The church is up the hill on the right. The old fence marks the previous church grounds.
 > Turn right andlook up past the church yard fence. You'll see a nearly hidden stair way and railing leading up to the church. Can you see the Church? Me neither. But it is there just at the top of the stairs.
 > Standing on the highway looking towards the church. Steps to church are on the right of the pillar. Beautiful grove of trees hides the church and old Rectory behind it.
 > Back to the Freeburg strip.
 > Looks like an old store front. Now a private residence
 > Freeburg is very much an agricultural mini-town in an agricultural county.
 > Looking across the valley.
