The Jewish Community Federation is proud to celebrate the richness and diversity of the greater San Francisco Bay Area by commemorating Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month each June in San Francisco.
The photos below are from our experience chatting with thousands of diverse passers-by at our Jewish Community booth over San Francisco's 2011 Pride weekend. With an LGBT inspired rainbow Israeli flag waving in site of the million plus gathers at the San Francisco Pride festival our Jewish Community Federation booth presenting primary partners Be’chol Lashon and the Contemporary Jewish Museum was a small beacon of Jewish life in a sea of competing corporate, commercial, and non-profit interests. Additionally, as our name The LGBT Alliance connotes, we also presented all of the local groups that have a specific mission to ensure that LGBT Jews are fully included, celebrated and empowered in all parts of Bay Area Jewish community life. These groups are: Keshet, Nehirim, A Wider Bridge, NUJLS and Congregation Sha'ar Zahav. Thank you for all the volunteers that came out to help.
