2. PINK
The colour of Romance. In the language of flowers a pink carnation means "I will never forget you". Pink is also a colour often associated with what is feminine, and is commonly associated with feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and
acceptance.

3. COLOURS OF PAINT
From a child`s first paint box with it`s little squares of colours; tubes of paint for an artist`s palette; to the tins of paint we use to decorate our homes - colour is all around us. And what poetic sounding names some of the colours have- Ocean ripple, Mineral mist, Whisper of sunrise, - many seeming to take their names from colours of nature.
Arranger: Christine Warsop
4. PURPLE
We read in the Bible (Acts 16:14) of Lydia, the seller of purple cloth. The dye for
purple was made from a juice found in minute quantities in shellfish so it took
thousands of crustaceans to make a yard or two of purple cloth thus making the cloth very expensive. Lydia worshipped God, and was a woman whose heart was prepared by the Holy Spirit to hear the call of Jesus, and to follow him.

5. RED
The Colour of Pentecost
Before his death, Jesus had promised his disciples and followers that he would send them a “Helper” (John 14:26).
In Acts 2:1-14 we read of how the Holy Spirit came to the believers on the day of Pentecost. This same Holy Spirit remains with us as our Helper today.
Arranger: Anne Colchester
6. WHITE
The Colour of Peace.
Peace is often symbolised by a white dove. We remember Jesus`s words “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you” (John 14:27) and that promise is for us today.
The familiar blessing “may the peace of God which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of his Son Jesus Christ……” is based on Paul`s letter to the Philippians (Ch4 v7)
