We ended up in Kosciusko, MS by way of the "Natchez Trace Parkway" (see photos in the "History" folder). Kosciusko, MS is the birthplace of Oprah Winfrey and the small-town community where she was raised and lived with her grandmother, Hattie Mae Lee, until she was six years of age. Her biological parents are Vernita Lee and Vernon Winfrey. Oprah, as she is simply called, was born January 29, 1954. She is an American television host, producer, and philanthropist, best known for her self-titled, multi-award winning talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history.
