Gull
9/10/2006

I already uploaded one of these, it was here, featured and all. Then it disappeared. If there are two tomorrow morning....ignore the other one and "do" this one!
Darn server....or whatever it is!

I have been up for hours on this. Do other people here get to eat dinner, watch TV and read books??

ginger (I was shooting with both cameras today towards the end: diff lenses, so this was taken with the 20D. I just looked, but I adore the 30D. I was after flocks of Ibis, and since I can't photograph them well, I thought it would help to have access to different lenses...........didn't.) You all, Bill has a 20D which belongs to his employer, I have access to that sometimes. And my 20D still works in a fashion, it just has issues.

Turkey Vulture In Flight, he had a prize right down where I parked at Pitt Street Bridge.
(This photo is full frame. I was lucky.)

It didn't look like much to me. Please see this photo...it is linked to dGrin. I like it a lot. It is two together and harder to scrutinized. Please give it a look.

Bridge. Mount Pleasant, SC

Having discovered that I now have many photos on the Pitt Street Bridge area, I have decided to justify that by the idea that I am doing a Pitt Street Bridge Series, and this is one of the most recent photos in that series.

Shrimp Baiting Season, Charleston Harobor after dark on opening day
9/15/2006

This is for small boats. Poles mark where the bait is thrown in. Then nets are cast to gather the shrimp who are after the bait.

This is a grand, wonderful occasion. I have seen these boats in the harbor every fall since I moved here 20 some years ago.

The baiting is done at night, with lights on and off in the boats. I was fortunate to find a good place to watch the season get under way this year. We stayed to walk out thru the woods after dark. I did not have my tripod, hated to ask Bill to carry it. It is expected to be a very good year for these shrimpers.

thanks for looking, ginger

The Waiting
taken 9/15/2006
worked up today for
Sunday 9/17

For information on the event, see the info with the photo below.

(I sit here and marvel at the groups of three all over that
photograph. I like it. I was following the yellow boat on
the left. I do not often photograph that fort, but the light
was perfect for it. Only cropping was a tad to straighten the
horizon more perfectly. What intriques me is the boats in
groups of three, the poles in 3, shifting thirds, smile.
have a good day all!)

Sunday Morning Fishing...and a dolphin swims by

(I tried to get that dolphin, couldn't. Then was looking at this photo and there he is, or the top of him.)

I know it is a dolphin as I saw him "play" intermittantly. They are as difficult, or more so, to catch as a flitting small bird.

does look like a shark, though, smile!
