Essex: Essex Elementary School fifth grader Clara Davis, left, held an Applause/Silence sign during the school's annual "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" contest and fundraiser on Friday night at the school. Teachers and a mystery guest answered questions in various academic categories that were submitted by students of all grades. Proceeds go to the Neil G. Ramsden Academic Achievement Award. So far, over $75,000 has been awarded to more than 175 Manchester Essex High School seniors.
