"LIGHT WINGS" by Ed Carpenter
"Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings." ~ Victor Hugo
First of all, thank you so very kindly for your comments on yesterday's "Cowgirl" photo for Kim's (aka Scianghetti) "Stranger Challenge." Now, for me, that was a REAL challenge, because (1) I very rarely take photos of strangers; and (2) I don't post "people shots." Needless to say, I certainly stepped out of my comfort zone:). I think it landed in the #2 spot (Kim's was #1). It was a fun challenge and I enjoyed seeing all of the other photos of "strangers."
Furthermore, this concludes the "Christmas in Arizona 2011" series which has lasted approximately three months, but here's another SOOC photo at the airport in Houston, TX.
According to Ed Carpenter's website, "Like luminous wings of a bird, or an exotic flying ship, the sculpture plays beneath the skylight. In daylight it projects the sun's rays in colored swaths onto the floor and reflects moving images over the ceiling and walls. At night, programmed lighting creates mysterious kinetic light paintings. From different vantage points various compositions reveal themselves, offering new views as travelers move through the airport. Each visit produces fresh discoveries depending on time of day and year." ~ Reprinted text from the artist's official website here:
