Since 1978, Casa de Amparo has provided safe emergency shelter and state-of-the-art treatment and intervention services for abused and neglected children throughout San Diego County. Casa programs fill a unique niche in the array of services provided by both private and public agencies. In all areas, Casa de Amparo is committed to exceed the basic needs of each child and to mitigate the impact of abuse and neglect whenever possible.

Casa de Amparo consists of five separate child abuse prevention/remediation programs: a 24-hour children's shelter (residential) for older children (ages six to eighteen) a 24-hour shelter for very young children (birth to five years), a daily preschool child development center, the supervised family visitation services, and counseling program. The emphasis of Casa de Amparo’s programs has always been to protect and help heal the child. This has been an integral part of Casa's mission since inception. Working with family members who demonstrate a commitment to being effective parents is part of this focus.

Canyon Crest Academy is the amazing public school I teach at. Located in Del Mar, California, the students that attend CCA are provided with amazing opportunities to succeed in numerous academic areas; including the arts, technology, engineering, the sciences and the humanities.
