The Long Course in race number five wasn't for the faint of heart. Seventy-six paddlers paddled from Kailua Beach Park to Kualoa Beach Park. A low tide helped to make it more tortuous, jacking up waves and turning the ocean into a jumble of pitching waves and white water. Those who completed the race had lots to brag about
