1st race of 2008.

I've been waiting for this day for a year. We only get live racing for one 4 day weekend a year, and this is the weekend. And as you can see, IT RAINED!!! I was so disappointed. The first post time was 6:00, and at about 4:30 we had a downpour. So I debated whether to go, and finally at about 5:15 the rain had let up, so I hopped in the car and headed over to the track. It was still raining lightly. I managed to get some shots of the 1st race, hung around for the second, and then decided I was wet enough.
I thought I would be able to sit under the covered grandstand, but the roof is missing. I wonder if the wind storm from three weeks ago blew it away. So there was no place to get out of the rain outside, and I didn't want to hang out in the building, so I left after the second race. It's supposed to rain for the next two days, and possibly clear off a bit on Sunday. I love hanging out at the track, watching the horses and people. But it's not quite the same in the rain.
