A gallery of daily photos. Some may be good, some may be not so good, but each photo represents something I did, or something that caught my eye, that day.
The 7.2 mile bridge
(6-10-08)
Weather permitting, some friends and I are planning on doing the infamous
Taco Ride on Thursday night. So I figured I better dust off my bike, pump up the tires, and make sure I can still ride it. I haven't been on it since last August. It's been sitting in a corner of the basement for the last 9 months.
So I headed over to the Keystone Trail. My goal was to hit the 5 mile mark, and then turn around. But when I hit that spot, I decided I could go just one more mile to the 6 mile bench. I got to the bench and stopped for a water break, and then decided I could try for the 7.2 mile bridge. (These are all my names for the landmarks on the trail.) Miracle of miracles, I made it to the bridge. The south wind I was riding into was horrible, but I knew once I turned around and headed north it would be an easy trip back. And it was. So I biked a total of 15 miles. Not bad for the first time out.
The Keystone Trail is not scenic at all. But it's paved, flat, and there are no motorized vehicles allowed. So it is a decent place to bike. And it's about the only place to go that's anywhere near my house. I try to avoid biking on the city streets.
