ktravers > Ouch. Our morning is slow, impeded by the aches and pains resulting from yesterdays exertions, but its off to Piedmont we go. Were sad to leave Sestri Levante, but intrigued by what lies ahead.

ktravers > ... we catch some spectacular mountainous views in Antola Park, before we finally hit the prosperous looking small city of Torriglia.

At Via Vai in Torriglia, we find a perfectly simple but pretty lunch spot, tables filled with workmen and families alike, all dining off the simple menu. We have only pasta here, choosing our individual sauces to go on our pasta choice. Its delicious, and we head off to...

ktravers > ...Pentema. Pentema is described as a bargo tradizionale, and seems like a fun, out-of-the-way stop, despite the signs all along the way, declaring difficult driving.

It is indeed a hairy trek, along narrow roads chock-full of switchbacks, but Karin only has to cover her eyes for about 50% of the time. When we spot the town, it looks like the towns of the Cinque Terre, but looking out on a deep valley rather than a deep sea.
