ktravers > The Castelli's natural pool is everything its cracked up to be. Karin felt compelled to book a room here, solely because of this unusual feature.

ktravers > Vlad relaxes above the pool level.

ktravers > The surf outside the pool is unexpectedly strong, especially as it forces its way through the narrow opening of the natural pool entrance. Swimmers in the pool were sucked in a rather strong current toward the opening as a wave would gather, and subsequently propelled back to shore as the wave came through. Karin perservered, though.

ktravers > Braver swimmers waited just at the pools entrance to the Mediterranean to feel the full force of the surf!

ktravers > The waves were tremendous!

ktravers > We take a walk into town, and are delighted by the casual but elegant atmosphere. We stop for a drink at the Bar Tritone for our first cocktails, and are please to be reminded of that fine Italian custom of bringing an assortment of fine nibblies to the table to accompany the drinks. Our caipiroska and negroni are accompanied by a superb assortment of olives, small foccace with parma prosciutto, chips and little pesto filled crackers. Mmmm, were in Italy!

ktravers > The harbor, at dusk. Dinner is at the Castelli this night, on a terrace overlooking the port. The fine, fishy fare was accompanied by a slightly fizzy 2001 Vermentino, which was so fun! The view was lovely, the breeze, balmy.
