These photographs were taken by my father, Capt. Earle Johnson and document the stateside training and overseas deployment of M Company, 3rd Battalion, 385th Regiment, 76th Division.

I scanned these photos from his scrapbook and added whatever captions he had provided in the margins. He never spoke of his wartime experiences and passed away before I had access to this technology which allows me to better preserve and share his photographs.

On "Our" Way is a play on the nickname of the 76th Division,"Onaway" -- a Chippewa Indian war cry.
