Maine Vacation Day Five 6/12/12
It was time to take a hike today! We headed out ,after a delicious breakfast at 2 Cats, to the Beachcroft Trailhead on Route 3. Our plan was to follow the trail to the summit of Champlain Mountain, continue to The Bowl, onto Gorham Mountain then to Otter Cliffs. Head back via the Shore Path, summit the Beehive, pass The Bowl again, back up Champlain and then back to the car. And that's exactly what we did on our 10.5 mile hike. We took our time as we had all day to enjoy ourselves. A beautiful day, low 70's, blue skies. A fantastic hike in Acadia National Park. Even though we have been to Acadia National Park many times over the years, we never tire of the area. One of our favorites.
A hearty breakfast at one of our favorite spots in Bar Harbor; Two Cats. Two spicy sausages, scrambled eggs, spicy homefries, biscuit with strawberry butter, melon and strong coffee.
Beechcroft Trailhead off of Route 3 to Huguenot Head and eventually Champlain Mountain.
Nice steady ascent over well placed rocks.
