MuddyPawStudio  > Photo Essays > Doberman Rescue Unlimited - A Day in the Life
I had the pleasure of working with the staff and wonderful Dobies at Doberman Rescue Unlimited to create a photo essay that illustrates a day in the life of their amazing organization. The dedication of the staff and their impact on the lives of each Dobie is clearly evident in the eyes of each and every dog (see photos from their portrait session). The rescue is a place of hope and care created by a very special group of people to whom I am incredibly grateful.

Please donate to their organization and, if you think a Doberman is in your future and you live in the New England/New York region, consider contacting them and adopting a rescued Dobie.

MuddyPawStudio > Star and Nemo meet up at the fence during their playtime. The Rescue has two large enclosed areas in which individual and groups of dogs can get daily exercise.
MuddyPawStudio > Each team member at the Rescue has a Wellness Plan whereby they are assigned six dogs to “mentor” over the course of three months. Every three months the dogs are reassigned, with each team member able to “keep” one dog to which they have gown attached. This ensures each dog gets special attention, and staff is alerted to any issues. In addition, each dog bonds with a range of people.
MuddyPawStudio > The Rescue has designed a facility and schedule that is perfectly suited to the needs of Dobermans. Dobies thrive in an organized and consistent environment, and one in which they have enough room to exercise and keep busy.
MuddyPawStudio > Dasch loves water and running through muddy puddles.
MuddyPawStudio > And Nemo, running around on a nice day, lets his tongue air out.
MuddyPawStudio > Dasch looks philosophical here, standing next to his fire hydrant while watching Angel. What would a proper dog run be without a fire hydrant?
MuddyPawStudio > Otter is a new arrival to the Rescue. He is quiet and depressed, but kind to those he encounters. He will stay in the isolation run until his health status is confirmed and the appropriate space can be assigned to him in the main building. One case of the kennel cough can shut down the entire facility, putting dogs in need at risk of being put down because the Rescue cannot take them.
MuddyPawStudio > While new dogs arrive others get to go home with their new families. Debbie is introduced to her new housemate after her family has undergone a rigorous adoption process. The goal is to match each potential adopter with a Dobie they want and is the most compatible.
MuddyPawStudio > Afternoons are a busy time. In addition to adoptions and in-takes, some residents visit the vet. The Rescue has developed a special relationship with the Fremont Animal Hospital. Tyson doesn’t seem to mind his visit with Dr. Agulnick.
