Eric Bowen > SPC Gabriel Gust and SGT Andrew Stockinger, relaxing in the motorpool. Waiting for the patrol briefing.

I think this photo exemplifies the relaxed professionalism of Bravo Company, after a year in Iraq. These two men are about head out on a combat patrol in Fallujah Iraq, but they look like they could be waiting for the football game to start.
Eric Bowen > 3rd platoon vehicles on the move. They have forced the civilian traffic, and are driving in the center lane on the wrong side to avoid car bombs, and IED's.
Eric Bowen > A village man shows the stress of having armed soldiers search his house.
Eric Bowen > 3rd platoon soldiers including SGT Mike Davis, 32 of Pequot Lakes, Max the interpreter, an unidentified soldier, and SFC Douglas Jjenniges, 46 of Glenwood leave a house where they have just confiscated an illegal AK-47 and ammunition (each family is allowed one AK-47 and 50 rounds of ammunition).
Eric Bowen > A child sleeps through the excitement.
Eric Bowen > SGT Mike Davis, 32 of Pequot Lakes and another 3rd platoon soldier question a man in a house where they have just found an extra rifle, and a cell phone (often used to trigger IED's).
Eric Bowen > Children smile for the camera. They have seen the American's many times before, and they are not scared.
Eric Bowen > The younger childern aren't so sure what to make of us.
Eric Bowen > This child seems perfectly comfortable standing next to an armed man in a mask. The war in Iraq has been going on longer than she has been alive.
