 > It was a nice day outside so I decided to work on the VS in the garage.

 > I decided to adde the lightening holes. I purchased a metal hole saw from LOWES and used it for the 1.5 inch holes. I purchased a fly cutter and used if for the 2 inch holes. Both the hole saw and the fly cutter worked very well. Be sure the stiffener is clamped to the drill press table, go slow, and use machine oil.

 > I decided to try my hand at the fibergalls tips for the rudder. I'm not real pleased with the job I did on the bottom tip. In particular I think I could have done a better job on the forward end where it firs around the rudder horn. I'm thinking of calling Vans and ordering another bottom tip. I took several pictures of the rudder and the tips. Note that I decided to use "floating" nut plates to secure the bottom tip.
