The leaves are changing, and falling from the trees. The summer birds have gone south, and the birds for whom this is the south are arriving from their Arctic summer breeding grounds. The small animals are fat with the bounty of nuts and berries. Fall is Nature's big party before she goes to sleep for the winter.

Queen Anne's Lace is really Wild Carrot (Daucus Carota), Dig up a root and you'll find it smells just like a carrot. The domestic carrot has been bred to have a much larger, sweeter and less woody root.
