 > NICE JOB - FREE PEN AWARD - Exploring NanoUberTetrisSigma 1 by I. Alora
Description: I kind of went nuts playing around with the Universe plugins and a few others in Photoshop Elements 5. I used UIC plugins to create a basic starfield, added some larger "textured stars", and used the 2.0beta plugin's "planet map" to create the planet. I used the Europa map and fiddled a lot with the ring controls, light colors (I used 2 lights) and the azmith and elevation for both the rings and the viewpoint settings. Then I popped back to the old UIC plugins again and used the galaxy effect on top of the planet. It took me quite a while to get the angle and sizing right on the galaxy so in overlayed on the planet the way I wanted. So now I needed a little ship or something to add some life to the image. I used KPT6's Scene Builder plugin to import a 3DS model of a space probe satellite on to my image. I selected just the satellite and used Red Paw's Bleach Bypass filter on it to give it a rougher appearence. After that I applied VanDerLee's Unplugged-X filter "Flip Intensity" to basically turn the black to white. I kind of stumbled on that effect and liked the reverse look for a space scene. It's different from the usual blackness of space. Then I just added couple of black outlined selections with PS Elements, selected the inside portion, copied onto a new layer and then added a drop shadow. Oh yeah, I also added my name to the bottom. :)
Applications Used: Photoshop Elements 5, UIC plugin, UIC plugin 2nd Edition, KPT6-Scene Builder, Red Paw Media's Bleach Bypass filter, and VanDerLee's Unplugged-X 2.0.
