Friends, government officials, and D.C. area residents gathered at the National Cathedral September 14, 2007 to pay their final respects to Effi Slaughter Barry, former wife of ex-D.C. Mayor, Marion Barry. Effi Barry, age 63, was remembered by all as being a good friend and person, and for her community efforts. She lost her battle with leukemia September 6, 2007.
