Around ca 95.400 kms a strong smell of fuel was noticeable from time to time. I couldn't find any leak at the first sight.
A few days later I saw smog coming out beneath me. In the morning the collector box was wet, covered in fuel.
My bike smelled like a fuel station and neighbours came to ask strange questions...

Morale of this event: what a stupid idea of BMW to produce and sell such an important connector in plastic. The fuel hoses move a lot, also due to the Telelever arm nearby. The locking mechanism is metal on plastic: it's there where it fails. When the connector breaks fuel will be sprayed over your hot engine, exhaust colector.. probably causing fire.
It's worth checking regularly..

Edit: it has been a few years now, but I came across a site that sells these connectors in metal version. Some people rally are added values to this world!
