Airplane Building - Wings
These photos provide the details associates with the construction of the slow build wing of the Vans 9A.
I installed 2 NPs at a time. I started by inserting one rivet and slipping on the NP. I then used a screw to snug up the NP to the spar flange. I then inserted the rivet on the opposite side of the NP and tightened up the screw. I would make sure the rivets could slide back and forth easily (adj when necessary), which let me know the the NP holes were well aligned with the holes in the spar. I would then squeeze the rivets, removed the screws, and moved on to the next pair.
